Training
Dr. Ian Peeters first studied physical therapy at the University of Ghent (UGENT). Afterwards, he studied medicine at the University of Ghent (UGENT) while working part-time as a physiotherapist.
He graduated in medicine with highest honors in 2013. He fulfilled his assistantship in orthopedics at Jan Palfijn Gent, GZA Antwerp, and at UZ Gent (Prof. J. Victor), among others. He further specialized in knee surgery under Prof. J. Bellemans, Prof. P. Verdonk and Dr. K.C. Lagae.
He also received his PhD degree in 2022 titled, “The Acromioclavicular Joint: Kinematic analysis, Injuries and Repair techniques.
Dr. Peeters specializes in orthopedic surgery of the knee joint with a focus on both prosthetic surgery as well as arthroscopic surgery such as repair of cruciate ligaments, meniscus and cartilage.
He is also a member of the Belgian Knee Society and a member of several scientific international societies (BVOT, ESSKA, ISAKOS).
He joins the team of Dr. K.C. Lagae and Prof. Peter Verdonk within the ANTWERP ORTHOPAEDIC CENTER at Monica Hospitals. The goal here is to further engage in a personalized approach to the patient.
